tenth annual heart’s delight wine tasting and auction
Heart’s Delight is widely recognized as a premier destination event where master winemakers, culinary greats and our distinguished guests gather to play and bid in the Nation’s Capital. This distinctive event is a three-day celebration of exceptional food, wine and camaraderie with unique touches and details woven throughout. From cozy dinners to grand tastings, every guest’s expectation is not only met, but exceeded. Thursday evening offers a series of intimate wine dinners with an international flair in homes,restaurants and Embassies with a host, chef and winemaker at each. Friday features an exclusive Vintners Dinner at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium highlighting the wines of Château Latour. (Past dinners have featured Château Mouton Rothschild in 2007, Château Margaux in 2006, Château Haut-Brion in 2005, and Château Latour and Château d’Yquem in 2004). The dinner is followed by a live auction led by Sotheby’s Jamie Ritchie. Saturday begins with a virtual tour of Bordeaux. World-renowned wine writer Robert Parker will lead a formal seated tasting of more than twenty 2006 Bordeaux where visiting Chateau owners and directors bring their wines to life. The adventure continues with exciting seminars and food prepared by some of the nation’s top chefs making, Heart’s Delight the place to discover the latest in epicurean trends and new talent. Guests will also enjoy wine from the world’s best vineyards as well as the opportunity to bid on exclusive travel packages, dining experiences and rare and exceptional wines during the spirited silent and live auctions.

the 8th annual national prostart invitational
On behalf of Le Cordon Bleu Schools North America, Stephanie Izard will be on hand to support the country’s top ProStart high school students as they compete at the eighth annual National ProStart Invitational from April 24-26th, 2009 at the Town and Country Resort & Convention Center in San Diego, Calif. At this fast-paced competition, teams of students that won first place in their state culinary and/or management competitions compete for the national title, as well as scholarships to continue their education at colleges and universities across the country.
