james beard and friends mangalitsa dinner

here i am, sitting in front of the computer, putting together a blog post announcing ticket sales for a goat event. sounds familiar, no?

finally, tickets for the james beard and friends dinner are going on sale!!

a couple months ago i was contacted by the james beard foundation to host a friend of james beard dinner here at the restaurant. the first thing i shouted was, “yes, of course!” in my mind, there is no better way to celebrate fall’s harvest than by getting together and cooking with my fellow chef friends, so i have invited them into the kitchen to share the experience with me. what’s on the menu this time? mangalitsa pig raised by friend and featured chef daniel fox from the madison club in madison, wisconsin. other featured chefs include guiseppe tentori from boka, bill kim from urban belly, mike sheerin formerly of blackbird restaurant and mindy segal from hot chocolate. each chef will present a course paired with local beers, hand–picked by lincoln anderson from three floyds brewery. along with a milk stout from three floyds, other breweries featured include metropolitan, revolution, half acre, piece and two brothers. the event will take place on november 2nd at 6:30pm.

but i know you’re asking, ‘steph! how the heck do we buy tickets!?!?!’

simple. call the restaurant, starting tomorrow at 10am. 312.492.6262 tickets are $200 per person.

and if you’ve got a large group, keep in mind that we’ll be selling the two king’s tables adjacent to the open kitchen in the coming weeks.

good luck, guys. and here’s to the pig!
