aways hungry (and thirsty): honey powder



this is one of my favorite ingredients. i stock up on it each time i visit the asian market. one day while there i asked what aisle the sugar was in and they sort of giggled at me, no sugar. they use various sweeteners including honey powder to sweeten foods. much healthier. my new breakfast is a little greek yogurt, which is one of my other favorite ingredients, with some honey powder and some granola. great way to start the day.

asparagus

prime season for asparagus started a while back in spring, but there are still plenty of tasty spears to be enjoyed. this has long been one of my favorite vegetables for its great earthy flavor. well and also because after one small bite it makes your pee smell funny, thanks to the high amount of nutrients it packs in. i am sure you have noticed this before... it has always intrigued me.

aspen food and wine—and more wine

think i am finally almost recovered from a fun filled weekend at the aspen food and wine festival. note to self... when you drink a glass of wine at altitude, you have basically had an entire bottle already. will have to keep this in mind next year. for now will just fill you in on all of the details that have not escaped me.

city in a day: san francisco

with all of the traveling i have been doing, i thought it would be fun to devote one day solely to searching each city for some of the best eats (and drinks). with help from friends on twitter, locals and chef friends i can seek out some of the dishes each city is known for, as well as some hidden treasures.
