you guys were rock stars with our thanksgiving fundraiser for common threads, but you really out did yourselves this month. i don't know if it's the holiday goat shirts or if buttons are the new trend, but the presents kept coming in for toys for tots and we kept handing out buttons and selling t-shirts. and, as promised, we raffled off the buttons for dinner at the goat on the expo line with a special menu, plus beer and wine pairings (because dinner at the goat wouldn't be complete with out it!)...

after making little hipster goat buttons with raffle numbers back before the opening, we fell in love with having the little goat hanging on our satchels and hats, and decided to make seasonal ones throughout the year. collector items if you will. each with a raffle number for fun prizes, and each with proceeds benefiting a charity fitting for the season...

tomorrow is the goat's 5 month anniversary! and as i sit here at home, recovering from a fall, and missing being with my staff at work, i was thinking back through our infant stages. some fun filled highs, some crazy panic attacks, some struggles, some triumphs... all the usual things that go into a restaurant opening. part of me feels like we just opened yesterday, while part of my feels like it has already been years. all in all, it has been a fun ride thus far. a bit of an upside down roller coaster for sure, but that is why we got into this business, and will never get out.
