in nyc for a few days, so of course the first place i want to hit for dinner is torrisi... a fellow beard nom for best new restaurant that has everyone in nyc talking, and yup, i waited outside for a chance to have dinner. i hope to hit all four of the nominated restaurants at some point this year, but this place has intrigued me since hearing kate krader from food & wine magazine go on about how great it is. know what? she and everyone else are right. awesome place.

it was my first culinary trip of the year, and my goal? to return home without any serious bodily damage. (i would post the pic of what happened to my face during my last trip to NY, but i still want people to come in for dinner). so my cook joe and i packed our bags, along with a helmet for me, and headed west to beaver creek.

you guys were rock stars with our thanksgiving fundraiser for common threads, but you really out did yourselves this month. i don't know if it's the holiday goat shirts or if buttons are the new trend, but the presents kept coming in for toys for tots and we kept handing out buttons and selling t-shirts. and, as promised, we raffled off the buttons for dinner at the goat on the expo line with a special menu, plus beer and wine pairings (because dinner at the goat wouldn't be complete with out it!)...
